Community Connections Centre (CCC)

About the Program

The centre provides access to basic needs such as meals, drinks, clothing, and hygiene supplies, as well as showers, laundry, and technology access for communication, device charging, and online tasks. Clients can also receive help with transportation for groceries, medical appointments, and prescription pickups through the Outreach Team. The Centre distributes harm-reduction supplies, and often acts as a safe refuge for individuals escaping violence, harassment, or the impacts of homelessness. Beyond basic supports, the centre strengthens community belonging through activities such as arts and crafts, bonfires, crib tournaments, movie nights, poker nights, and shared meals. It also hosts regular embedded services from partners including Interior Health – Mental Health & Substance Use, Street Outreach Nurses, the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction, ANKORS drug checking, Rural Empowered Drug Users Network, student nurses, and First Nations Elders—providing direct access to care and advocacy within the space. The Community Connection Centre functions as a vital hub where individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, mental health challenges, and substance use can rest, connect, receive practical assistance, and access pathways to broader community supports. While the full range of services are not currently available, please see information on the Out of The Cold Shelter to learn about what is currently accessible to guests.
