PEACE Counsellor (Temporary)
The PEACE (Prevention, Education,
Advocacy, Counselling and Empowerment) Program supports children and youth ages 3–18 who have
witnessed abuse, threats, or violence in the home. The counsellor provides therapeutic support to
children while also helping caregivers understand and respond to the impacts of violence. This role is
ideal for someone passionate about trauma-informed practice and supporting children and families in
their healing process.
Seniors Community Connector
A Seniors Community Connector (SCC) plays an integral role in bridging the gap between healthcare system
and community supports and programs for seniors. Through a social prescribing approach, you partner with
community organizations to provide non-medical support and connections to improve the overall health and
well-being of older adults in your community. This is a frontline position providing direct support to clients.
Billing Coordinator
Works as part of the Seniors Services Team (Better at Home/West Kootenay Volunteer Driver program/Community Connector), supporting clients, program coordinators and management team as required. Ensures consistency, efficiency and best practices for best outcomes for programs, team, and clients. Reports to the Manager of Seniors Services, works closely with the Finance Manager and other members of the Seniors Services team.
Casual Shelter Worker
This position is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day activities of the Out of the Cold Shelter Program. This includes completing intakes/discharges, ensuring safety of clients and other staff, perimeter walks, assisting with client case planning, making referrals, and provide general housekeeping duties including food preparation and cleaning. The Community Shelter Worker assists clients to achieve the greatest degree of independence and quality of life possible through supporting their physical, economic, vocational, recreational, social, emotional and daily life skills development.
